Color & Trend Research
The colors black, bright red and burnt orange were three main leading colors that stood out to me from Fashion Week 2021. Not all designers used these colors of course, but I found that the designers who did, I was most attracted to their garments. All three designers I chose incorporated these colors in some form into their collection. The designers used the colors with different types of material such as leather, chiffon, velvet, sequences, satin, etc.
Jason Rembert designed a collection for Fall 2021. His company is entitled Aliétte. Due to the affects of the 2020 pandemic, Jason found himself designing his collection in the somber mood starting with a dark canvas. Jason stated that his main focus for this years Fall collection was the structure and silhouette of his garments and not so much the color. His goal was to create garments that could make an impact on its own. He wanted the color of the garments to be secondary. Jason designed and abundance of eveningwear for his collection with elegant detailing. The demand for casual wear is due to the fact that most people found themselves locked inside their homes in the 2020 pandemic crisis. Jason wanted to give his consumers the opposite of what they have become accustomedespecially in this past few years. He wanted to design pieces that you can’t just wake up and throw on. He did not aim for everyday type pieces in this collection. His collection gives off an aurora of self confidence and it represents a woman with a sense of authority who can wear a gown or a woman in power who might choose a pant suit instead, yet both women find themselves at the same event. The collection is versatile and caters to different women who seek elegance and edge in their wardrobe.
